Marie Rubis Bauer
Saint Cecilia Organ Festival

Volume 1: Inaugural Gala
Organist: Marie Rubis Bauer
Choirs of the Saint Cecilia Schola Cantorum directed by David Batter and Kristin Anderson
This music was recorded live in Saint Cecilia Cathedral on October 3, 2003 on the occasion of the Inauguration of the new Cathedral organ built by Pasi Organ Builders of Roy, Washington. These recordings capture the experience of performers and listeners, who participated in this inaugural celebration. Saint Cecilia Cathedral boasts a reverberation time of 4-7 seconds, and seats 1000 people. With choirs in procession, singing from the front and the back of this large reverberant space, you hear waves of music from the same words being sung at slightly different times. This sonic dance is one of the delights of hearing music in the Cathedral.
